While Corfu isn’t exactly a secret, it is certainly flying under the radar. Tourists flock to visit the more popular islands of Santorini and Crete. Further inland, the luscious green landscapes are filled with rolling hills and olive groves.

Splendid Beaches
With over 130 miles of coastline, you will undoubtedly find a beach to love. Just the village of Paleokastritsa alone has six scattered beaches along the bays. They are shockingly pristine with pinkish-beige sand, sparkingly blue-green water, with jagged rocks stretching out in the Ionian Sea.


Old
Town
Corfu, Greece has a quaint and charming Old Town that transports you back in time. Corfu Town is picturesque and overflowing with bougainvillea flowers. The old streets will lead you to the beautiful Esplanade that is now a lovely park and garden that runs along the waterfront. The Liston is a promenade full of cute cafes, shops, and restaurants, which is the heart of Corfu’s social life. Old Town is also a UNESCO World Hertitage Site steeped in history with impressive fortifications like the Old Fortress and castle.

The cuisine alone is easily reason enough to visit Corfu, Greece. Local specialties to look for are Sofrito, a veal dish with delicious garlic and vinegar sauce, and Bourdeto, scorpionfish cooked in a spicy tomato sauce and served with potatoes. Of course, don’t forget the most incredible homemade olive oil and the sweet kumquat liqueur for which Corfu is known. The best food comes from the family-run taverns with traditional recipes that are handed down through the years.
