Here are three spectacular regions of France that are easy to combine with a vacation to Paris. The Loire Valley

Distance from Paris – 2 hours by car or 1.5 hours by train

Here you will discover a quieter region of France famous for its fairytale castles, lovely wines, and natural beauty. The Loire Valley boasts over 300 castles, vineyards, sunflower fields, and charming medieval towns. These castles are rich in renaissance architecture. Some castles are renovated into hotels, which are a fabulous option for staying a few days! Otherwise, the Loire Valley is a nice day trip from Paris to visit a couple of castles and a winery.

Distance from Paris – 2.5 hours by train

Have you seen the gorgeous photos of lavender fields in France? Provence is where you’ll see them! All summer, visitors around the world visit to capture the most incredible photos of these spectacular fields. Explore charming French villages with narrow streets. Visit local markets, enjoy olive oil tastings, visit wineries, and experience Roman ruins, and a papal palace.

The French Riviera

Distance from Paris – 1.5 hour flight to Nice

The French Riviera, “Côte d'Azur,” is known for its glamorous coastline with luxurious yachts and charming hilltop towns. Popular destinations like Nice, Cannes, and St. Tropez are in the French Riviera, but you can easily visit lesser-known towns full of charm and history. The lovely seaside beach village of Villefranche-Sur-Mer has fantastic restaurants, quaint shops, and narrow cobblestone streets lined with pastel-colored buildings. Or consider staying for a few nights of relaxation and the most spectacular views in the hilltop medieval towns of the French Riviera. For art lovers, the French Riviera has museums, some dedicated to Picasso and Napoleon.
