Don’t Wait to Travel with Your Kids!

- “One day…we’re going to take the kids to Hawaii!”
- “We really want to travel to Europe, but we’re waiting until the kids are older.”
- “We want to go to the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone, but our summers are just too busy.”
Do any of these statements sound familiar to you?
Let me tell you a secret: there will never be the perfect time to travel with your children or grandkids! Something will come up, and you will put off your plans until next spring break, next summer. “Next year, maybe” turns into the year after that...and so on...until you “blink.” Suddenly, you are sitting at their graduation, wondering what the hell happened!
Travel Gives Kids Perspective
Children are innately curious. They lack so many of the prejudices we have internalized as adults. When you travel with young kids, you will be surprised by their willingness to embrace other cultures. Your children and grandkids help you have a more open-minded travel experience.
Learn another Language
There is something exciting about being able to throw around a few words of French, knowing how to say hello and thank you in German, or ordering off a menu written totally in Italian and hoping you don’t end up with something inedible! And if you accidentally order goat testicles, your whole family will still be laughing about it 20 years from now!
The World Is a Classroom
Travel is proven to be an excellent learning tool. The world becomes your classroom when traveling. Seeing how people live in other countries can open their minds to different cultures, religions, foods, and so much more.
Travel Creates Lasting Relationships
A great way to reconnect with your loved ones is to vacation together without the stresses of daily life. It’s intentional and meaningful moments together that create bonds. Imagine just you and the kids (or grandkids) experiencing an unfamiliar culture, spending quality time together, and actually enjoying each other’s company.
Are you reading this and thinking, “I’ve always wanted to see Europe with my kids”? If you want to do it now, you’ve probably wanted it for a long time. You’ve imagined it, daydreamed about it, and envisioned it. Guess what? Clients just like you will take their 17-year-old grandson on vacation to celebrate his high school graduation. And parents who are finally planning a European vacation for their 21-year-old before she is “gone.”
Remember…you only have 18 summers!
Whether for a milestone celebration or for quality time before your kids and grandkids are grown, I am honored to plan you family travel.
